Using Topic Map Technology in the Planning of Courses from the CS Knowledge Domain

A teacher must consider many details when planning and organizing a course. This paper shows how the new Topic Map computer technology can help in this process. The developed Topic Map for the CS knowledge domain is used for the analysis of introductory CS courses, but it can be also applied to other courses, including in noncomputer disciplines. Well-structured Topic Maps may become a solid base in the formation of a common connected picture of learning science.
